How To Expand Your Jeans When You're Pregnant (DIY Pregnancy Hair Tie Jean Trick)

If you're looking to wear your regular jeans as far into your pregnancy as possible, this is a great DIY trick!  First, take a hair tie (use one that is larger that the photo above) and wrap around the button.  Pass it through the loop and bring it back around to close on the button.  I've been using this trick up until almost 24 weeks.  It helps to have a belly band or a long enough shirt to cover it.

I've been wearing my regular jeans with the tie hair trick (see here) up until now and finally decided to try a pair of maternity jeans.  I have yet to invest in a belly band...probably should do that soon.  I was really hopeful for these to work out but I don't love them as much as I thought I would.  I love Paige Denim verdugo crop jeans - they seem to fit me the best and have several pairs.  Unfortunately these maternity jeans are not my favorite.  The inseam is slightly too long which was a major disappointment.  I have to cuff them up once but the inner part of the jeans is dark which makes it look weird.  The waist part where the elastic band is wasn't the most comfortable either. :(  I took my normal size 24 but I noticed the waist was loose and I kept having to pull them up every few seconds.  

My good friend Karri gave me a pair of Paige Denim Kylie crop maternity jeans and they seem to fit much better.

The fit throughout the legs are looser but the waist area was way more comfortable than the verdugo crop jeans.  The length fit perfectly and I like the wash much better.  My advice is to invest in at least one pair of nice maternity jeans that you can wear throughout your pregnancy.  I'm still on the hunt for a decent pair of white maternity jeans.  You can only go so long using the hair tie/rubber band method which isn't comfortable once your belly starts growing really big.  Hope this helps!
